About the President
Laura Pettit Rusick, founder of OPT Solutions, Inc., provides strategic leadership for all facets of information technology. Drawing from 12 years of managing IT departments, Laura founded OPT Solutions, Inc. to make strategic technology management available to small to mid-sized businesses without requiring a commitment to the cost of a full-time CIO.
Laura combines her IT management experience with her business management expertise to help clients align IT with business strategy, increase productivity and profitability, and increase internal and external customer satisfaction through technology. She has spent more than 20 years working in and with business units to optimize business process efficiency and utilize technology to automate those processes.
Professional
Ms. Rusick holds a Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University, Weatherhead School, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Cleveland State University. She is a board member at Neighborhood Family Practice, a federally qualified health center. She is also on the advisory board for Kent State University's Center of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation. She served four terms as board member of the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Society for Information Management. Ms. Rusick led the Technology Task Force for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association. She was Co-Director for the 2008 and 2009 Cleveland CIO Forums. Ms. Rusick is also a certified Project Management Professional.
Prior to founding OPT Solutions, Inc., Ms. Rusick was the VP of Information Technology at Franklin & Seidelmann Radiology, a nationwide teleradiology company. She has also managed the IT departments at Family Heritage Life Insurance and Cole Managed Vision (now Luxottica). At Deloitte & Touche Management Consulting, she was a consultant to an ERP software selection and implementation project for a manufacturer, and a call center centralization project for a large health care organization. She began her career as a Service Consultant for Progressive Insurance where she managed numerous projects.
